Advanced Settings
Power Conservation Mode
[Default = disable]. Select enable to
allow the Reader to enter a low-power state after a
period of no activity. Power Conservation (Sleep) mode
is a low-power Reader state. The Reader enters Power
Conservation mode when this mode is enabled and there
has been no activity in the Reader (no reads, no serial
data received, etc.) for a configurable length of time (see
Idle Activity Timeout below). The Reader will exit Power
Conservation mode and return to the normal mode of
operation when the trigger is depressed or when a char-
acter is sent to the Reader via the serial port (see
Figure 41).
Idle Activity Timeout (1 to 99)
[Default = 22 seconds]. This option
specifies the number of seconds of no activity that must
elapse before the Reader enters Power Conservation
(Sleep) mode (see Power Conservation Mode above),
when enabled.
Power On Messaging Mode
[Default = enabled]. The reader can
be configured to send “Power On” messages when it
reboots. The messages describe the software versions in
use on the Reader, hardware found during start-up, fail-
ure modes (if any), and status of any special operations,
such as writing new code to flash memory.
Command Beeps
[Default = enabled]. When enabled, the
Reader will beep when it receives a command.
FPGA Version
[Default = New]. The options available are New
and Old versions.
Command Label Processing
[Default = enabled]. This feature
should be enabled when you want the Reader to "recog-
nize" the bar codes in your Programming Guide.
NOTE
The first character sent to wake up the Reader is lost.
