These settings affect the behavior of the Imager 8000 Reader while
reading decoded data and capturing images. The four options
include: Pointer/Illumination LEDs, Image Capture Control, Bar
Code Capture Control, and AutoSense configuration (see Figure 36
on page 54).
Pointer/Illumination LEDs
Illuminator LEDs
[Default = LEDs on during read]. Illuminator
LEDs are the array of eight LEDs that bathe the target
image with light in order to capture an image. When con-
figured to be on during capture, the illumination LEDs
turn on whenever an image is captured according to the
following settings:
LEDs Always On — When configured to be always on, the
illumination LEDs are always on as long as the Reader is
powered on.
LEDs Always Off — When configured to be always off, the
illumination LEDs will never come on.
LEDs On During Read — The illumination LEDs are acti-
vated during an actual image capture when this option is
is selected.
LEDs On Until Good Read — When configured to remain on
until a good read, the illumination LEDs will remain on
from trigger pull until a ”good read” is accomplished.
Pointer/Aiming LEDs [Default = Pointer on during read].
Pointer On During Read
— The pointing/aiming LEDs are
the two right and left facing arrows (triangles) projected
from the Reader when targeting/ranging an image. The
LEDs activate when the trigger on the Reader is
depressed.
Pointer Always On — In this mode, the pointer/aiming
LEDs are always on when the Reader is powered on.
Pointer Always Off — The pointer/aiming LEDs do not
come on when the trigger is pulled when this mode is
enabled.
Pointer On Prior to Reading/Decoding [Default = disabled].
Enabling this option turns on the pointer/aiming LED
before capturing and decoding.
