Communication
The Reader MUST be equipped with the correct hardware (interface
board, cable, etc.) to properly communicate with the host terminal. If
you have questions concerning hardware compatibility, contact your
system administrator or your PSC dealer.
The communication fields listed below control serial port communi-
cation, handshaking between Reader and host, and Read Ahead
Mode. Refer to Figure 16 for a view of the communication menu.
These settings affect the Reader’s communications:
Baud
[Default = 115200]. The baud rate can be set to any of 12
rates (300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 14400, 19200,
38400, 28800, 57600, or 115200).
Data Format
[Default = 8 data bits/no parity/1 stop bit].
Choose one of 12 combination settings to configure the
number of data, stop, and parity bits. Some combinations
are not included in the list. Combinations that will not
work with the Reader have been excluded.
Check your host system manual to find out your system
communications requirements before selecting the
appropriate data communications combination.
