messages that let the user know the current status of the PRYMEBLU Adapter.

This button is also used to activate the Push-To-Talk function of the two-way radio.

2-Pin Accessory Connector

This port connects the PRYMEBLU Adapter

to a compatible Kenwood two-way radio.

Connecting the Adapter to Radio

STEP ONE: Connecting to a 2-way Radio

To connect your PRYMEBLU Adapter to a 2-way radio, follow these steps:

Always turn off your two-way radio before connecting the PRYMEBLU Adapter.

Plug the PRYMEBLU adapter into the speaker-microphone / audio accessory jack of your two-way radio.

Turn on your two-way radio and verify that the LED indicator on the PRYMEBLU Adapter flashes periodically.

If it does not, verify that the radio you are attempting to use the adapter with is a supported Kenwood model.

Some Kenwood radios do not supply power to the accessory connector.  For these radios, you will need to use

the model PRYMEBLU BT-501 (which has its own internal battery pack) instead.

* NOTE: While the PRYMEBLU Adapter is attached to the radio and no Bluetooth headset is paired to the adapter,

the radio's internal speaker will be muted and you will be unable to hear incoming calls through the radio's speaker.

* NOTE: While the PRYMEBLU Adapter is attached to the radio and no Bluetooth headset is paired to the adapter,

you will be able to cause the radio to transmit by pressing either the PTT button on the side of the radio or the

Talk button on the PRYMEBLU Adapter.  However, you will not have any transmit audio because the microphone

inside the radio is muted.

Pairing With an Audio Accessory

STEP TWO: Pairing with an Audio Accessory

• Turn off the radio that the PRYMEBLU Adapter is connected to. Wait at least three seconds.

• Turn the radio on while holding down the Talk button on the PRYMEBLU Adapter.

• Continue to hold the Talk button down for approximately three seconds. Release the Talk button

when the status LED begins to ash two times per second.

• The PRYMEBLU Adapter is now in audio accessory pairing mode. Activate the pairing mode on your

compatible wireless audio accessory.

• Once the wireless audio accessory and PRYMEBLU Adapter are paired with each other, the status LED

on the adapter will show a constant blue light for three seconds.

• If the PRYMEBLU Adapter does not detect a compatible wireless accessory within 60 seconds of being

put into pairing mode, the adapter will exit the pairing mode and resume normal operation.

• Once successfully paired, you will be able to operate your two-way radio using your compatible

wireless accessory.

Reconnecting to a Previously Paired Headset

Once the PRYMEBLU Adapter has been successfully paired to a Bluetooth headset it will remember that

connection. If the headset is powered off or loses connection, the adapter will attempt to reestablish the

connection. The adapter and headset will attempt to reestablish their link whenever when the radio/adapter

and headset are both turned on and in within range of each other. Re-establishing this connection can take

10-60 seconds.
