Displaying IP Camera Images

IP Cameras
●
Frames must be provided in
*.jpeg
format. The *.jpeg files must contain
meta-data about the image content in the
exif header
(exif =
exchangeable image file format).
●
To display camera videos in the CTI application,
*.mpeg
or
*.mjpeg
formats are required.
●
If, for security reasons, access to the camera image is to be protected with a
login
, the IP camera must allow URLs that contain the user name and
password to be requested (HTTP digest procedure/digest access authenti-
cation). In this case, the IP camera must provide images (frames and
videos) as *.
cgi files
(cgi = common gateway interface).
●
The
resolution
of the camera images must correspond to the display of
the SIP system telephones used. The SIP system telephones do not
convert the camera images supplied into the appropriate display size. The
resolution is less important when displaying images in the CTI application,
as the web browser converts the image into the required resolution.
●
If the camera image is to be displayed in parallel on multiple terminals, the
IP camera must allow multiple
parallel access
.
●
USB cameras
are
not supported
in the Forum 5004/5008/5012
communications system.
Displaying IP Camera Images
The IP cameras used should display an adequately sized image section on SIP
system telephones/in the CTI application to allow the entrance area of an EIS
to be monitored, for example.
The following resolutions are required to ensure an
optimum image display
on the telephone display:
●
Forum IPhone 5025: 320 x 184 Pixel
●
Forum IPhone 5030: 480 x 192 pixels
●
Forum IPhone 5040: 800 x 372 pixels
●
Forum CTI: 640 x 480 pixels
Ideally, you should use IP cameras that enable the image resolution to be
specified in the URL. If the IP camera used does not offer any resolutions that
correspond perfectly to the display sizes of the SIP system telephones used,
you can define the resolutions that come closest to the display sizes in the
