Background activity refers to any of several functions that take place in the background while normal
operation of the Vess A-Series continues.
Background activities work in conjunction with disk arrays and logical drives. See
Arrays (CLU)” on page 50 and “Managing Logical Drives (CLU)” on page 66for more information
about how and when to use background activities.
