Configuring the Server

Starting Up and Operation

Configuration without ServerStart

Configuring IME (RAID Level 1)

The server has an onboard SAS controller with “Integrated Mirroring Enhanced” 
functionality. 

I

To configure “Integrated Mirroring Enhanced”, the controller has its own 
RAIDSelect Utility. For further information, refer to the “Integrated 
Mirroring User’s Guide” on the 

ServerBooks

 DVD (select “Controllers” 

from the menu).

Configuring the Onboard SAS Controller with RAID functionality

Configuration of the onboard SAS controller with RAID functionality is described 
in the Technical Manual for the system board, and is carried out using 

WebBIOS

 

(see 

“Literature” on page 115

).

Operating system installation

Ê

Insert the installation floppy disk and the CD for the operating system you 
want to install.

Ê

Reboot the server.

Ê

Follow the instructions on screen and in the manual for the operating 
system.

If your server is equipped with a RAID controller, please read how to install the 
desired operating system in the related manual.
