PDL Manual
6.3.2.
Proximity Switches
The proximity switch should be adjusted such that the switch opens and the power unit turns off
just before the lift reaches the desired raised height. The lift will drift up slightly after the power
unit turns off.
The typical proximity switch used is a normally open type that is
held closed when the leg is in front of it, it opens when the leg moves
beyond the switch, the proximity switch sensing end should have a gap
of 1/32” to the leg.
To adjust the proximity switch:
1. Raise the lift and engage the maintenance device(s). See section
2. Loosen the locking nut on the side of the proximity switch closest to the junction box. Do
not loosen the locking nut on the side closest to the leg to maintain the correct distance
from the leg.
3. Slide proximity switch up or down in the slot as required. Make small adjustments and
check for the correct raised height in between adjustments.
• Sliding the switch up the in slot will increase the raised height.
• Sliding the switch down in the slot will decrease the raised height.
4. Retighten the locking nut to prevent the switch from moving during operation.
5. Disengage the maintenance device(s) and check the raised height.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 until lift comes to a stop at the desired height.
