Battery installation
A) 1.
Press down the battery latch on the bottom of the radio

Open the battery cover on the back of the radio

Install the battery as shown by

Put on the battery cover

Press the battery latch upward to lock the battery case.
Getting started
Turn the Volume switch
[A]
clockwise to turn power on and set desired volume. Turn the
Volume button counterclockwise to turn power off.
The squelch
[B]
is used to eliminate received background noise in the absence of an incom-
ing signal. For maximum receiver sensitivity, the control should be adjusted only to the point
where the receiver background on ambient background noise is eliminated. The incoming
signals that are then received will be stronger than the background noise.
"F" (FUNCTION) button
This button, when used in conjunction with the buttons on the front panel, allows access to
each 2
nd
level function. Press and hold the
"F"
button in normal mode (not memory channel
mode and Call channel mode), then the two last digits indicate stored memory channel number.
However, if you do not press the
"F"
button, these digits indicate current transmitting/receiv-
ing channel number.
