7-26 Knife Carriage Assembly
Step 1.
Remove the knife motor assembly. Refer to 7-25.
Step 2.
Pull lead screw out of bronze bushing and rotate lead screw counter clockwise to
remove knife carriage assembly.
Note: Be careful not to damage lead screw.
Step 3.
Replace knife carriage assembly in reverse order of removal.
Step 4.
Verify the rotary knife assembly is positioned properly against the stationary knife
and pressure plate. Manually test knife carriage movement.
7-27 Worm Gearbox Assy.
Step 1.
Remove the rear access panel/ Refer to 7-1.

Step 2.
Disconnect leading motor and encoder cables.
Note: Observe encoder connector orientation before removing.
Step 3.
Remove the three large hex head screws which secure the gearbox and
groundwires to casting.
7-28 Leading Worm (Refer to Figure 7-7)
Step 1.
Remove worm gear box assembly. Refer to 7-27.
Step 2.
Loosen the coupling set screw on the worm side.
Step 3.
Remove the worm gear by removing the "E" ring and washer from the motor side
of the worm, and the "E" ring, spring washer, two flat washers and bearing from
the other side.
Step 4.
Replace the worm gear in reverse order of removal.
Step 5.
Lubricate gear with grease (P/N 0923820)
