Figure 18. Outputs and battery
Terminals 13.6V- and 13.6V+ are those corresponding to output 1 of the equipment.
The and Battery- terminals are where the batteries should be connected.
The terminals 48V(40W)+ and 48V(40W)- will be those corresponding to output 2 of the
equipment.
Terminals 48V+ and 48V- are those corresponding to output 3 of the equipment (motors
output).
Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) wires to the terminals of the equipment, observing
the polarity indicated on the silkscreen.
After making the connection, the battery voltage should be measured at rest to verify that the
polarity has not been reversed during installation.
Dangerous voltages are present at the battery terminals when the equipment is
disconnected from AC. Access to batteries should be limited to trained personnel. To avoid
damage, the instructions in this manual must be strictly followed.
It is
EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
to short-circuit the terminals of a battery (or one of
its cells) before a current limiting element (fuse or circuit breaker). If this occurs, the
battery current is limited only by the internal resistance of the battery and the wiring. The very
high currents (hundreds of amperes) can cause the battery to explode and melt cables, tools
and other metal objects.
7.1.1.3
BATTERY TEMPERATURE PROBE CONNECTION:
The EDT-150-5191 charger incorporates a pre-wired temperature sensor to measure the
ambient temperature near the batteries.
Only the temperature probe supplied with the charger should be used.
The probe cable is 2m long. Other sensor lengths are available on request (standard sizes of
5m and 10m available).
IMPORTANT: Pay attention to the polarity when connecting the
batteries.
Reversing the poles can cause serious damage to the system and to
the batteries themselves.
