If side discharging is desired along with mulching, install side discharge
deflector
(see page 8).

Set unit on flat surface so engine is level. Remove dipstick,
wipe clean, put back in hole (but don’t screw in) and check
lubricant level.
NOTICE:
Do not use E15 or E85 fuel in this product. It is a violation
of federal law and will damage the unit and void your war-
ranty. Only use unleaded gasoline containing up to 10%
ethanol.

Unfold and adjust the handle assembly
(see page 7).

If rear bagging is desired instead, remove pre-installed mulching plug and
install grass catcher
(see page 8).

Connect the battery
(see page 8).

Add entire bottle of lubricant provided
(see page 9).
SETTING THE BLADE HEIGHT

Set the blade height to the position best suited for your lawn
(see page 8).

Add fuel
(see page 10).
This is a 4-cycle engine. Do not mix fuel and lubricant
together.
OPERATING THE MOWER

Insert the start key, open the fuel valve, then pull the start bail/operator
presence control toward the handle and hold. Turn the start key to start
the mower using the electric start feature or pull the starter grip and rope
until the engine runs.

To use the self-propel drive, pull the drive bail toward the handle to engage
the drive transmission
(see page 10).

To stop the mower, release both bails
(see page 10).
