7.1

Li-ion battery

Advantages of Li-ion batteries :

Li-ion batteries have a higher capacity/weight ratio (more power for less heavy, more
compact, battery)

No memory effect (capacity loss after several charge/discharge cycles) like other type
batteries. (Ni-Cd, Ni-MeH ..).

Limited self discharge. (also see chapter : Storage)

7.2

Charging tips

Never over-discharge a battery by using the radio even after radio performance has
decreased. When radio performance begins to diminish stop the radio and recharge the
battery for optimal performance.

Allow the radio to cool down after use; avoid placing the charger and radio in a warm
environment.
