INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Before using the pump for the
first time
The power source must be 230 V ~ 50 Hz and have
at least a 6-amp fuse.
The electrical installation must be protected
against damp and rain.
The submersible pump is designed to transport
water with a maximum temperature of 35 °C. The
pump must not be used for other liquids, such as
engine oil, fuel, abrasive or corrosive fluids and
cleaning agents.
•
The motor must be protected against frost.
•
The motor must not be allowed to run dry.
•
If the pump is used for dirty water, this can
cause the pump to leak.
Warning!
When the pump is used near a swimming pool or a
garden pond, it must be equipped with a residual
current device (RCD) of max. 30 mA (in accordance
with Directive VDE 0100, parts 702 and 738). The
pump must not be used while there are people in
the water.
Two pumps must not be connected by means of
removing the insulation around the conduit or
the wire itself.
If the mains cable or the plug is damaged in
any way, it must be repaired immediately by an
authorised electrician or at an authorised workshop.
Use
This pump is used mainly as a basement pump or
similar. When the pump is installed in a shaft, for
example, check that there is no risk of it flooding.
The pump can also be used to move water from
one place to another, e.g. in the home, greenhouse
or as part of the plumbing.
The place where the pump is used (the pump shaft)
must have the following minimum dimensions:
40×40×50 cm. This enables the float to move freely.
The pump is lowered to the required position
using the purpose-made handle.
To ensure optimum operation of the pump,
it should be kept away from dirt and mud.
In particular, check that
•
the pump is resting securely on the bottom
of the pump shaft.
•
the pump cable is correctly attached.
•
the pump does not run dry.
Maintenance
We recommend regular maintenance intervals
and pump inspections, as this will help extend the
service life of the pump and prevent malfunctions.
•
Remove the mains plug before performing any
kind of pump maintenance.
•
If the pump has been used and needs to be
transported to another location, it must
immediately be rinsed out with clean water.
•
In the event of dirt clogging the pump, this
can often be removed by a powerful jet of
water.
•
In the event of the pump being used as a
fixed installation, the float function must be
inspected at least every three months.
•
The bottom of the pump shaft must be
inspected for mud at least every three months.
•
Clean the float regularly with clean water.
Cleaning the pump impeller
If dirt has collected inside the pump, it will be
necessary to clean it out.
This can be done as follows:
1. Loosen the four screws at the base of the pump.
2. Remove the base of the pump.
3. Clean the pump impeller with clean water.
During this process, do not leave the pump
unattended and do not rest it on the pump
impeller.
4. Put the pump back together in reverse order.
