Installation Procedures and Sequence
³
Mounting the Unit to the Supporting Structure
Q
The cabinet weight is substantial. Mounting should be accomplished by
two or more persons.
1. Orient the brackets as needed to fit the installation surface on the supporting
structure. The orientation shown on the Plan View drawing is the preferred
one.
2. Utilizing the dimensions as shown on the drawing, locate and drill the top two
holes to mount the cabinet to the support surface. Refer to the plan view
drawing of the cabinet.
3. Bolt the cabinet to the supporting structure using two studs or lag bolts and
washers.
4. Drill and install the studs or lag bolts and washers for the bottom two brackets.
Tighten the four mounting hardware assemblies to secure the cabinet to the
supporting structure.
3.5.1
Inclement Weather Procedures
The cabinet is rated NEMA 4X as supplied. This rating is dependent upon
following all installation instructions and expects that no additional openings in the
cabinet are created. If it is necessary to create additional openings, for
instructions contact Positron. (For contact information see section 1.3.1 on page
10.)
This also assumes that the orientation of the cabinet on the mounting surface will
be as shown in the provided drawings.
Inclement weather working conditions do however create additional work steps
that must be done to ensure a safe working environment and reliability of the
electronic equipment in use within the cabinet. Rubber gloves in conjunction with
a rubber mat offer sufficient dry weather condition protection. In inclement
weather conditions they still offer a certain amount of protection. This amount is
dependent upon the condition of the surface of the two protective devices, that is,
the worker is standing in water and are the surface of the gloves wet.
