Location Thread Tightening torque Nm (ftlb.)
Cylinder head nut (coat thread and sealing
surface of the nuts with engine oil) M10 30 Nm (22 ftlb.), then unscrew; 20 Nm (15
ftlb.) (joining torque); then retighten all
screws to 20 Nm (15 ftlb.); final tightening
with 120° turn
Camshaft housing (thread and sealing surface
of screw head are lightly oiled) M8 (10.9) 23 Nm (17 ftlb.) initial tightening
28 Nm (21 ftlb.) final tightening
Camshaft bearing cap on camshaft housing M6 (10.9) 13 (9.5)
Oil guide housing (screws microencapsulated −
replace) M5 (8.8) 7 (5)
Guide rail between the camshaft wheels M6 (10.9) 13 (9.5)
Central screw for axial camshaft adjuster on the
inlet camshaft; before tightening, the adjuster
must be positioned to the left−hand stop M12 x

170° torque angle (replace screw)
