5.10 Engine Cover

 

► 

The weight

-

optimized engine cover is made of carbon fiber composite. The standard hinges are also 

replaced by weight

-

optimized retaining pins.

 

NOTE

 

► 

The engine cover is inserted onto the two tabs on the wing supports and then fixed to the front hol-

ding peg using two lock pins.

 

Care must be taken that the two pins in the wing supports engage in 

the recesses in the engine cover. If this is not observed, the cover can-

not be attached properly.

 

NOTE

 

Damaged lock pins must be replaced immediately.

 

As part of vehicle preparation, both the tabs on the wing supports and 

the mounts and studs on the body must be checked for firm seating 

and damage.
