4.1
Software
The system is controlled by various software programs depending on the
application. This can either be the PSV, PMA, or TMS software. Make all
settings in the appropriate software using the respective software manual.
4.2
Selecting and Exchanging Objectives
In order to use your own objectives, contact Polytec to make sure that your
objectives are suitable. You have to calibrate these objectives in the
respective software. Refer to your software manual.
ATTENTION!
Damage to objective positioner by using the wrong objective mount!
Due to their design, the A-IOB-005X-B, A-IOB-02X5-B and A-IOB-004X-LD-B
Michelson Interference Objectives have a larger parfocal length and mass
than the Mirau interference objectives or the bright-field objectives. If you are
using the Michelson Interference Objectives together with the objective
positioner on the objective turret, the objective positioner can be damaged
when you rotate the objective turret.
» Use the objective adapter instead of the objective turret for the Michelson
Interference Objectives.
INFORMATION
With MSA-A-TMS option: An extension piece is included in the scope of
supply, whereby you can adjust the parfocal length of the interference
objectives (A-IOB-xxxX, type Mirau) to the parfocal length of the microscope
objectives (A-MOB-xxxX, type Mitutoyo), when you are using both types of
objectives in the objective positioner.
INFORMATION
If you use a Mirau interference objective with the objective adapter, the
extension piece is not required. This results in a parfocal length of 58.82 mm
(refer to F
4.3).
If necessary, position the object a bit higher to be able to focus on it.
