Get Ready to Install Your System:

Make Sure the Network Is Ready

Before you begin installing your iPower

600 Series system, you should make sure

that the network is ready.
The document

Preparing Your Network for Collaboration

 contains worksheets that will

help you get the network ready. For example, for ISDN networks, the worksheets list

requirements for the system, such as the ISDN BRI dialect, the Network Type, and so

on. You can find the

Preparing Your Network for Collaboration

 document at the

Polycom web site, http://www.polycom.com.
If you’ve already followed the steps in the

Preparing Your Network for Collaboration

document or the network administrator has already taken care of the network

preparation for you, you can continue with the installation.

Install Your System:

Attach Your System to the Top of the Monitor

You can attach the Camera and Microphone module to the computer unit and place

the system on top of a monitor. Or, you can keep the Camera and Microphone module

and the computer unit separate and mount the Camera and Microphone module on a

flat panel display or on a wall. If you keep them separate, you will need to use the

optional interconnect cable.
Follow Steps 1 through 5 only if you’re installing your system on top of a monitor.

1. Slide the back of the Camera and Microphone module onto the front of the

computer unit. You may have to push down gently on the back of the Camera and

Microphone module to make sure it fits together securely with the computer unit.

2. Locate the plastic bag containing the three screws. Insert the screws into the

holes under the computer unit, and tighten the screws using the edge of a coin.

Caution:

 Do

not

flip your system over to attach the screws. Doing so may harm

the camera. Instead, slide the system slightly over the edge of your table or desk,

and insert and tighten the screws from underneath.

3. Remove the paper backing from the Velcro

®

pieces at the bottom of both the

Camera and Microphone module and the computer unit.

4. Center the system over the top of the monitor, and then stick the system onto the

monitor. Firmly press down on the system to make sure it’s attached securely.

5. Flip the microphone into the upright position until it clicks into place.

Set Up the Remote Control and Keyboard

1. Insert the four batteries into the battery compartment in the back of the remote

control.
For the remote control to work properly, make sure that the infrared path between

the remote control and the receiver at the base of the Camera and Microphone

module is not blocked.

2. Insert the eight batteries into the battery compartment in the back of the keyboard.

To open the battery cover on the keyboard, apply pressure to both sides of the

cover.
For the keyboard to work properly, make sure that the infrared path between the

keyboard and the keyboard receiver is not blocked.

Connect the Cables

See Side 2 of this poster for complete information about how to connect the cables

and any optional equipment to your iPower 600 Series system.

After You Install Your System:

Power On the System

Now that you’ve set up the hardware and connected the cables (see Side 2 of this

poster), you’re ready to start up the system:
1.   Push the power button on. You’ll find the power button on the side of the

computer unit.

The LED on the front of the system lights up.

2. Follow the Setup Wizard instructions.
Congratulations! You’re done installing your iPower 600 Series system!
