▪ Logs all configuration change events
▪ Supports a user-based security model

Configure SNMP
You can monitor your system remotely with SNMP.
Procedure
1.
In the system web interface, go to
Servers
>
SNMP
.
2.
Configure the following settings:
Setting
Description
Enable SNMP
Enables administrators to monitor the system
remotely using SNMP.
Enable Notifications
Enables MIB notifications.
Version1
Enables your system to use the SNMPv1 protocol.
Due to security issues, Poly recommends that you
don’t enable this setting.
Version2c
Enables your system to use the SNMPv2c protocol.
Due to security issues, Poly recommends that you
don’t enable this setting.
Version3
Enables your system to use the SNMPv3 protocol.
Enabled by default, you can’t configure other
SNMPv3 settings unless this is on.
Read-Only Community
Specifies the SNMP community string for your
system. For security reasons, don’t use the default
community string (
public
).
Note:
Poly doesn’t support SNMP write
operations for configuring or provisioning
systems. The community string is for read
operations and outgoing SNMP traps.
Contact Name
Specifies the name of the person responsible for
remotely managing the system.
