MISC ELECTRICAL SERVICE
12V RECEPTACLE
This vehicle is equipped with two 12 Volt receptacles
q
located in the center console. The 12V receptacles
provides an accessory power source.
1. To remove the 12V receptacle, disconnect the battery
negative (-) cable.
2. Remove the upper dash panel. Refer to “
Body Component Removalpage 10.35
” procedure.
3. Disconnect the electrical harness leads to the 12V
receptacle and remove from the center console.
AWD COIL
OPERATION OVERVIEW
• When the key switch is “ON”, 12 VDC power is present
at the hub coil.
• When the AWD switch is “ON”, and if the criteria is
met, the Engine Controller provides a ground path
(brown/white wire). When this occurs the AWD icon
should display in the instrument cluster.
• The AWD system must be grounded to operate.
TESTING
• Verify the AWD switch is functional and that a
minimum of 11 volts is present at the hub coil.
• Verify the AWD hub coil is functional. Test the AWD
hub coil using an ohmmeter. See specifications below:
AWD Hub Coil Resistance:
24 Ω ± 5%
• Verify the wiring harness, wiring, connectors,
connector pins and grounds are undamaged, clean
and connect properly.
• Verify continuity of wire connections with a known
good volt/ohm meter.
NOTICE
Verify all wires and wiring connections have been
tested properly with a known good volt/ohm meter
before suspecting a component failure. 80% of all
electrical issues are caused by bad/failed
connections and grounds.
TERMINAL BLOCK
The terminal block is located under the hood. The
terminal block provides power to permanently installed
accessory components.
1. To remove the terminal block, remove the hood.
2. Disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
3. Remove the nuts holding the accessory power cables
to the terminal block.
4. Remove the fasteners holding the terminal block to
the vehicle.
5. To
install,
reverse
removal
procedure.
Torque
terminal block fasteners to specification.
TORQUE
Terminal Block Fasteners:
3 lb-ft (4 Nm)
