LED TAIL LIGHT OVERVIEW / SERVICE
The tail / brake light is a sealed assembly and not
serviceable. There are 10 LEDs on the circuit board.
Both the tail and brake circuits are powered by the RD/
WH DC chassis voltage circuit. The tail lamp is always
illuminated when the engine is running.
The brake light circuit is protected by a 2 AMP fuse. This
circuit is closed when the brake lever is pulled. If the fuse
is blown, there is a short in this circuit.
To service the tail light assembly, remove the two screws
securing it to the flap.
Disconnect the wire connector.
Reverse the steps to reinstall the assembly.

TROUBLESHOOTING
NOTICE
Some tests require a 12V battery, Next-Gen Service
Power Harness: PS-52573, and the Chassis Power-Up
Harness: PS-47296–B.
LED Headlight / Tail Light Testing:
No Low Beam Headlight, Tail Light / Brake Light
• Verify the hood / headlight and tail light wire harnesses
are connected. Inspect connectors for water, foreign
material, or bent / dis-lodged terminals.
• With the engine running, test for voltage at the Gauge
PWR test connector using a multimeter. There should
be at least 12VDC at the test connector.
• If the tail light LEDs illuminate, but the brake light LEDs
do not, verify the 2 amp fuse located in the load center
is not blown. If it is blown, inspect the brake light wire
at the left-hand brake master cylinder handlebar
clamp. Repair wires if damage is found.
• If the headlight does not illuminate, verify the 10 amp
fuse located in the load center is not blown.
• Test brake light switch. Switch should close when
brake lever is pulled to the handlebar.
• Connect a fully–charged 12V battery, Next-Gen
Service Power Harness, and the Chassis Power-Up
Harness to the Gauge PWR test connector. Both the
headlight low-beam LED array and tail light should turn
on. Verify there is battery voltage at the headlight
harness connector (Pins B and C) and at the tail light
harness connector (Pins A and C). If battery voltage is
present at either connector, replace the component
that will not turn on and re-test.
