SECURITY SYSTEM - ENABLE /
DISABLE / PASSCODE RESET
SECURITY SYSTEM – ENABLE
Use Digital Wrench to enable the security function in the
ECU.
NOTICE
The security enable process has to be performed when:
• The user wants the security function turned on
• Installing a new ECU using the ECU Replacement
Procedure
1. Obtain a fully-charged 12 volt battery and the Chassis
Power Up Harness.
Chassis Power Up Harness:
PS-47296–B
2. Open the left engine compartment panel.
3. Connect the Next-Gen Service Power Harness to the
diagnostic connector on the wiring harness.
Next-Gen Service Power Harness:
PS-52573
4. Connect one of the harness leads to the ECU PWR
test and Gauge PWR test diagnostic connectors.
5. Connect the power up harness to the battery.
NOTICE
If the snowmobile is equipped with a fully-charged
battery, it can be used to supply power to the test
connectors. If using a stand-alone service battery, do
not place the battery in the tunnel footwells. Place the
battery on the floor next to the engine compartment.
IMPORTANT
On snowmobiles equipped with the IDD and battery,
use the key switch to supply power to the IDD by
turning the key to the RUN position. Do not connect the
Chassis Power-Up Harness to the Gauge PWR test
connector.
6. Connect the SmartLink cable to the vehicle and PC /
laptop.
7. Start Digital Wrench, and select the correct vehicle.
8. Select the “Special Tests” icon and then “Security
Functions.”
9. On the Security Functions screen, select “Enable
Security.”
10. After making the selection, Digital Wrench will scan
the ECU to determine the current security settings. If
security is already set in the ECU, Digital Wrench will
display “Security Setting Already Enabled.” Click on
the red “X” to return to the main menu.
