Gearcase Coil Resistance
NOTE:
To test the gearcase coils resistance, use the
coil harness. The gearcase coils should measure
between
22.8 ohms
and
25.2 ohms
.
3. Remove output shaft assembly.
NOTE:
Be careful not to misplace the thrust bearing
located between the two output shafts.
4. Clean all parts and inspect spacers for wear.
Inspect ring gear for chipped, broken, or missing
teeth.
5. Remove the roll cage assembly, rollers, and
H--springs.
6. Thoroughly clean all parts. Inspect the rollers (A)
for nicks and scratches. The rollers must slide up
and down freely within the roller cage surfaces
(B).
7. Inspect the ring gear (C) for consistent wear
patterns. The surfaces should be free of nicks
and scratches.

8. Inspect roll cage (B) sliding surface. This surface
must be clean and free of nicks, burrs or
scratches. Remove and inspect the H--springs.

9. Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the
retaining clip from the output cover.
