Emissivity must be correctly set for accurate temperature measurements.
Emissivity can be set for both global measurements and regional measurements.
•
To set the global emissivity:
Step 1 Tap the emissivity icon to display two emissivity dials.
Step 2 The emissivity may be numerically set using the left dial, which has the range
(0.01
—
1.0).
Step 3 The emissivity may be set by material type selection using the right dial. An
abbreviated reference table of emissivity values is also provided in Section 6.
Step 4 Tap the screen outside of the menu area to complete the setting.

Reflection temperature
If the emissivity of the target is low, it is important to set the reflected temperature
correctly. The reflected temperature is the temperature of objects seen in reflection on
the measurement surface.

To set the reflection temperature:
Step 1 First directly determine the temperature of the object seen in reflection on the
measurement surface.
