4-11. VERTICAL FIN.
a. Removal:
1. Remove the tail cone fairing and fairing at the forward edge of the fin.
2. Remove the rudder. (Refer to Paragraph 4-9.)
3. Disconnect the antenna wire from the antenna assembly, attach a fish line to the antenna cable
before removing it from the fin.
4. Separate the stabilator trim cable at turnbuckle, and remove the cable from the trim
mechanism.
5. Remove the one bolt at the leading edge of the fin.
6. Remove the two bolts which secure the trim mechanism to the fin spar. Remove the four bolts
which secure the fin spar to the aft bulkhead. Remove the fin.
b. Install the fin in reverse of removal instruction using Figure 4-1a as reference for proper hardware
and torques. Check all bolts for safety.
