General
• Use the unit on a fi r m, level su r face f r ee f r om vib r ation.
• Place the s p eake r s at least 30 cm away f r om any CRT TV
to avoid colou r va r iations ac r oss the TV sc r een. If the
va r iations p e r sist, move the s p eake r s fu r the r away f r om
the TV. LCD TV is not pr one to such va r iation.
• Kee p the unit away f r om di r ect sunlight, st r ong magnetic
fields, excessive dust, humidity and elect r onic/elect r ical
equi p ment (home com p ute r s, facsimiles, etc.) which
gene r ate elect r ical noise.
• Do not p lace anything on to p of the unit.
• Do not ex p ose the unit to moistu r e, to tem p e r atu r es
highe r than 60°C (140°F) o r to ext r emely low
tem p e r atu r es.
• If you r system does not wo r k pr o p e r ly, disconnect the AC
p owe r lead f r om the wall socket. Plug the AC p owe r lead
back in, and then tu r n on you r system.
• In case of an elect r ical sto r m, un p lug the unit fo r safety.
• Hold the AC p owe r p lug by the head when r emoving it
f r om the wall socket, as p ulling the lead can damage
inte r nal wi r es.
• The AC p owe r p lug is used as a disconnect device and
shall always r emain r eadily o p e r able.
• Do not remove the outer cover, as this may result in
electric shock. Refer internal service to your local
PIONEER service facility.
• The ventilation should not be im p eded by cove r ing the
ventilation o p enings with items, such as news p a p e r s,
tablecloths, cu r tains, etc.
• No naked flame sou r ces, such as lighted candles, should
be p laced on the a pp a r atus.
• Attention should be d r awn to the envi r onmental as p ects
of batte r y dis p osal.
• The a pp a r atus is designed fo r use in mode r ate climates.
CAUTION
• The voltage used must be the same as that s p ecified on
this unit. Using this pr oduct with a highe r voltage othe r
than that which is s p ecified is dange r ous and may r esult
in a fi r e o r othe r ty p e of accident causing damage.
PIONEER will not be held r es p onsible fo r any damage
r esulting f r om use of this unit with a voltage othe r than
that which is s p ecified.
Loading the batteries
The batte r ies included with the unit a r e to check initial
o p e r ations; they may not last ove r a long p e r iod. We
r ecommend using alkaline batte r ies that have a longe r life.
CAUTION
• Inco rr ect use of batte r ies may r esult in such haza r ds as
leakage and bu r sting. Obse r ve the following pr ecautions:
- Neve r use new and old batte r ies togethe r .

Inse r t the p lus and minus sides of the batte r ies pr o p e r ly
acco r ding to the ma r ks in the batte r y case.

Batte r ies with the same sha p e may have diffe r ent
voltages. Do not use diffe r ent batte r ies togethe r .

When dis p osing of used batte r ies, p lease com p ly with
gove r nmental r egulations o r envi r onmental p ublic
inst r uction’s r ules that a pp ly in you r count r y o r a r ea.
• Do not use o r sto r e batte r ies in di r ect sunlight o r othe r
excessively hot p lace, such as inside a ca r o r nea r a
heate r . This can cause batte r ies to leak, ove r heat, ex p lode
o r catch fi r e. It can also r educe the life o r p e r fo r mance of
batte r ies.
