7. DISASSEMBLY
1. Before the Power Amp Assy is removed
Note 1:
Even if the unit shown in the photos and illustrations in this manual may differ from your product, the procedures
described here are common.
Note 2:
For performing the diagnosis shown below, the following jigs for service is required:
• 11P board to board extension jig cable (GGD1576)
• 19P board to board extension jig cable (GGD1577x2)

Discharge C5721 and C5722 on the PO
W
ER AMP Assy by discharging Pin 1 and Pin 4 of D4701on the DIODE Assy to the earth
point of PO
W
ER AMP Assy.
Note:
For discharging, use a load of 100
Ω
, 3
W
or more, to protect the IC protectors. Do
N
OT discharge instantly by short-circuiting.

Check that the voltage between the electrodes of each C5721 and C5722 is 1
V
or less.

Unplug the AC Power Cord.
Before the Power Amp Assy is removed, discharge C5721 and C5722 on the PO
W
ER AMP Assy, as indicated below.
If you don't, the protectors (P5001 and P5002) on the PO
W
ER AMP Assy may be open, and DC voltage may be generated at the power
amplifier output, which will result in "AMP ERR."
The discharge operation indicated below is performed when the MAI
N
Assy and the AUDIO I
N
Assy are removed temporarily to remove
the screws of the Regulators attached to the Chassis for a diagnosis of the PO
W
ER AMP Assy B side.

Caution shall be exercised when touching the
lead with a short-circuit jig so as not to touch
the lead and the chassis simultaneously.
