Important Warnings About TS-WX010A Installation
•
To avoid possible electrical shock, disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery power cable before
starting installation.
•
Although the TS-WX010A is designed for optimum performance when
installed in the front passenger
seat foot space, it can be installed effectively in other locations as well. If installing in the passenger
compartment, make sure it is securely anchored in place where it will not cause a hazard in case of a
sudden stop.
•
The most important factor in installation location is where the TS-WX010A can be installed
securely without interfering with the safe operation of the vehicle or impairing the
performance of operating systems or safety features, including air bags, controls and
indicators (lights), which will depend on the vehicle model. DO NOT INSTALL ANYWHERE IN
THE DRIVER'S AREA. Interfering with the safe operation of a vehicle is extremely dangerous
and could result in serious injury, including death
. For a secure fit, select a flat installation
location with no surface irregularities.
•
Do not install on the floor mat alone as it is easy to move/remove. The TS-WX010A must
remain secure in case of sudden stops, and it will not stay in place if installed only on the
floor mat, which may result in serious injury.
•
Ensure that the entire TS-WX010A unit will be out of direct sunlight in all situations and will
not get wet.
Direct sunlight can make surfaces inside the vehicle, including this unit, very hot, which
could result in a risk of burns if the unit comes into direct contact with skin. This product is not water
resistant and must be kept dry.
•
Before drilling any mounting holes, check behind where you want to drill the holes to make sure you
DO NOT drill into anything such as the gas lines, brake lines, electrical wiring or vehicle battery and
battery charging system (for hybrid and electric vehicles).
•
When wiring this unit, use the supplied connecting cords and DO NOT remove or bypass the fuses.
Modification or removal of these parts will disable the protection circuit, which is needed in case of an
electrical short or over-current situation.
•
When routing leads and cords, secure them with cable retainers and electrician’s adhesive tape or
shrink tubing wherever they may touch sharp edges. Do not install the unit or its wiring near hot
surfaces or heater outlets, which could lead to short circuits or damage, or in a place where a
passenger might trip on it getting in or out of the vehicle.
•
When using the included installation brackets, make sure the carpet, or both the carpet and floor mat,
is between the TS-WX010A and the brackets as indicated in the HOW TO INSTALL section of the
instruction manual.
