By loading the accesso r y DJS softwa r e o r anothe r DJ softwa r e to a com p ute r connected to this p laye r via USB cable, the p laye r can be
used to o p e r ate the DJ softwa r e pr og r am.
Supported DJ softwares
Two Styles of Play
This p laye r can be connected to a com p ute r using eithe r of the methods shown below.
Normal Style
The p laying setu p whe r eby the MEP-7000 o p e r ates with the cont r ol unit and d r ive unit as a set is called “no r mal style.” In no r mal style p lay,
when using a DJ softwa r e pr og r am, the MEP-7000’s d r ive unit is connected to a com p ute r via a USB cable. The DJ softwa r e pr og r am is
allocated as a sou r ce on the BROWSE sc r een the same as discs and USB sto r age devices, and switching between these sou r ces is
p e r fo r med on the unit’s cente r dis p lay. By designating the MEP-7000 as an audio out p ut device, it becomes unnecessa r y to use a mixe r
to switch between two sound sou r ces, allowing seamless DJ p lay im p ossible until now. (Designation of the MEP-7000 as an audio out p ut
device is su pp o r ted only by DJS and ce r tain othe r DJ softwa r e pr og r ams.)
Manipulator Style
The p laying setu p whe r eby the MEP-7000’s cont r ol unit is made to o p e r ate as the DJ softwa r e pr og r am’s mani p ulato r is called
“mani p ulato r style.” When the MEP-7000 is used as a mani p ulato r , you can cont r ol you r DJ softwa r e without need fo r eithe r mouse o r
keyboa r d, using the same layout, functions, and ease of o p e r ation t r ansmitted f r om the Pionee r CDJ se r ies.
DJS Included as an accesso r y with the MEP-7000, the all-in-one DJ softwa r e pr og r am “DJS” allows immediate use of
DJ softwa r e.
Communication-

Comme r cially available DJ softwa r es su pp o r ting the MEP-7000’s dedicated communications pr otocol can be

MIDI-su pp o r ted DJ

The MEP-7000 out p uts data r ega r ding button and TEMPO adjust slide r status in unive r sal MIDI fo r mat, so DJ
softwa r es with MIDI su pp o r t can be used to assign the unit’s MIDI messages, thus using the MIDI
communication fo r cont r ol.
