USING THE PLAYLIST
This unit allows the use r to pr e r eco r d desi r ed t r acks in a p laylist,
thus allowing quick t r ack selection even when using la r ge-
ca p acity discs and USB sto r age devices.
U p to 20 p laylists can be const r ucted, and each p laylist can r eco r d
u p to 150 t r acks f r om multi p le USB sto r age devices and CD-ROM/
DVD-ROM discs.


When the [
PLAYLIST
] function button is pr essed, a listing of
p laylists is dis p layed. By using the r ota r y selecto r dial, a desi r ed
p laylist can be selected. The p laylist indicated by an o r ange icon
has been selected fo r mixing (P. 42).
Also, if a p laylist is selected and the r ota r y selecto r dial is held
de pr essed fo r one second o r mo r e, the p laylist menu will a pp ea r in
the r ight window.
When a Playlist is Open
T r acks r eco r ded in a p laylist a r e given consecutive numbe r s and
dis p layed with title and a r tist names. When no title is pr esent, the
file name is dis p layed.
When a t r ack’s o r iginal sto r age device (USB memo r y, CD-ROM/
DVD-ROM, etc.) is not cu rr ently connected, that t r ack’s name is
g r ayed out on the dis p lay.
Also, if a t r ack is selected and the r ota r y selecto r dial is pr essed,
the t r ack menu will a pp ea r in the r ight window.

To record tracks in a playlist
1 Use the cursor to select tracks or folders in a USB storage
device or CD-ROM/DVD-ROM disc.
2 Hold the rotary selector dial depressed for one second or
more.
• The cu r so r will flash, and the t r ack will be r eco r ded in the
cu rr ently o p en p laylist.
• The maximum numbe r of t r acks r eco r dable in a single
p laylist is 150.
• When enti r e folde r s a r e r eco r ded additional time may be
r equi r ed.
• The [ PLAYLIST ] icon will flash du r ing r eco r ding of t r acks to
the p laylist. A p laylist cannot be o p ened when the tab is
flashing.
 Play a track from the playlist
1 Open playlist.
2 Use the rotary selector dial to select a track, then press the
LOAD A or LOAD B button.
• T r acks will p layback in consecutive nume r ical o r de r .
• New t r acks can be r egiste r ed and edited on the p laylist even
while anothe r t r ack is p laying f r om the list.
MEMO
• Music CD (CD-DA) t r acks and DJ softwa r e t r acks (including
DJS) cannot be r eco r ded on a p laylist.
• Once r eco r ded, a p laylist r emains in memo r y even when the
p owe r is tu r ned off, so that it can be r eused late r .
• When a t r ack is r eco r ded on a p laylist f r om a USB sto r age
device, the p laylist info r mation is w r itten to the sto r age device
itself.

NOTE
• If the connected USB sto r age device does not have
sufficient o p en s p ace, it may be im p ossible to r eco r d the
contents of t r acks on the device.
