TYPES OF DISCS PLAYABLE ON THIS UNIT
• Playable discs will dis p lay one of the following logo ma r ks on the disc label, p ackaging, o r jacket:

About disc playback
This unit can p lay CD-R/CD-RW discs r eco r ded in music CD (CD-
DA) o r CD g r a p hics (CD-G) fo r mat, and CD-R/-RW, DVD-R/-RW,
DVD+R/+RW, and DVD±R dual laye r discs r eco r ded in MP3/AAC
file fo r mat.

The following discs cannot be played on this unit
CDs: DTS-CDs, p hoto-CDs, video-CDs, and unfinalized CDs
DVDs: DVD video, DVD audio, DVD-RAM, unfinalized DVDs, MPEG
moving p ictu r e files

Backup your discs!
Due to st r uctu r al cha r acte r istics of CD-R/-RW, DVD-R/-RW,
DVD+R/+RW, and DVD±R dual laye r media, if such discs a r e left
fo r extended p e r iods in the p ause (o r cue standby) mode, they
become un p layable o r difficult to p lay at that p oint on the disc. The
same sym p tom may occu r if the loo p function is used to r e p eat the
same section of a disc fo r an ext r emely la r ge numbe r of times.
When using discs holding im p o r tant files o r t r acks, always make
backu p s fi r st.

About copy-control CDs
This unit is designed to com p ly with music CD standa r ds. We
cannot gua r antee o p e r ation o r p e r fo r mance when using discs that
do not com p ly with these standa r ds.

[DualDisc] playback
This unit is designed to com p ly with music CD standa r ds. We
cannot gua r antee o p e r ation o r p e r fo r mance when using discs that
do not com p ly with these standa r ds.

About 8 cm single CDs
8 cm single CDs cannot be p layed on this unit. Also, do not attem p t
to attach an 8 cm ada p te r to a disc and p lay it in this unit, since the
ada p te r may become detached du r ing p layback, causing damage
to the disc o r p laye r .

About CD-TEXT on music CDs
This unit su pp o r ts CD-TEXT, and dis p lays t r ack titles, album titles,
and a r tist names r eco r ded in CD-TEXT. Su pp o r ted cha r acte r codes
include ASCII, ISO-8859, MS-JIS, and Manda r in Chinese. When
multi p le text data a r e r eco r ded, the fi r st text data is dis p layed.

including individual cha r acte r istics of the disc, sc r atches
o r soiling of the disc, o r di r t o r condensation on the p laye r ’s
lase r lens.

pr o p e r ly due to va r iations in the r eco r ding softwa r e settings
