Switching the subtitles
Fo r discs o r files on which multi p le subtitles a r e r eco r ded,
the subtitles can be switched du r ing p layback.
Caution
• The subtitles cannot be switched fo r discs r eco r ded
by a DVD o r BD r eco r de r . Also r efe r to the o p e r ating
inst r uctions fo r the device used fo r r eco r ding.

During playback, press SUBTITLE.
• The cu rr ent subtitle and total numbe r of r eco r ded
subtitles a r e dis p layed on the TV sc r een.
To switch the subtitle, pr ess SUBTITLE again.
• The subtitles can also be switched by selecting
Subtitle f r om the FUNCTION menu.
• If the subtitles a r e not switched when SUBTITLE is
pr essed, switch them f r om the disc menu sc r een.

Turning the subtitles off

Press SUBTITLE or select Subtitle from the
FUNCTION menu to switch the setting to OFF.

About displaying external subtitle
files while playing DivX media files
In addition to the subtitles r eco r ded in DivX media files,
this p laye r also su pp o r ts the dis p lay of exte r nal subtitle
files. If a file has the same name as that of a DivX media
file aside f
r om the file extension and the extension is one
of the extensions listed below, the file is t r eated as an
exte r nal subtitle file. Note that DivX media files and
exte r nal subtitle files must be located in the same folde r .
Only one exte r nal subtitle file can be dis p layed on this
p laye r . Use a com p ute r , etc., to delete any exte r nal
subtitle files you do not want to dis p lay f r om the disc.
.s r t, .sub, .txt, .smi, .ssa, .ass
If the language code is s p ecified fo r the exte r nal subtitle
file, the subtitles a r e dis p layed with the font
co rr es p onding to that language code. If no language
code is s p ecified, the subtitles a r e dis p layed with the font
co rr es p onding to the language code set at Subtitle
Language ( p age 42). The same font is used fo r all the
languages in each of the g r ou p s below.
Note
• De p ending on the file, the exte r nal subtitles may not
be dis p layed pr o p e r ly.
Displaying the disc
information

Press DISPLAY.
The disc info r mation a pp ea r s on the TV sc r een. To switch
off the info r mation dis p lay, pr ess
DISPLAY
again.
The info r mation dis p lay diffe r s between du r ing p layback
and when p layback is sto pp ed.
Switching the audio and
secondary audio
Fo r discs o r files on which multi p le audio st r eams/
channels a r e r eco r ded, audio st r eams/channels can be
switched du r ing p layback. Also use this pr ocedu r e to
switch the seconda r y audio fo r BD-ROMs on which
seconda r y audio is r eco r ded.

During playback, press AUDIO.
• The cu rr ent audio and total numbe r of r eco r ded audio
st r eams a r e dis p layed on the TV sc r een.
To switch the audio, pr ess
AUDIO
again.
• To switch the seconda r y audio, pr ess 2nd AUDIO .
• The audio/seconda r y audio can also be switched by
selecting Audio o r Secondary Audio f r om the
FUNCTION menu.
• If the audio/seconda r y audio is not switched when
AUDIO / 2nd AUDIO is pr essed, switch it f r om the
disc menu sc r een.
 Turning the Secondary Audio off

Press 2nd AUDIO or select Secondary Audio from
the FUNCTION menu to switch the setting to OFF.
