Connecting and

Network
This chapter explains how to connect to and conÞgure the network
interfaces you can use with the Concorde¥4500.
You can connect your system to one of the following digital network
interfaces:

Internal four-wire CSU

Northern Telecom V.25 bis
Before reading this chapter, here are some terms you may want to
know:

CSDC (Circuit Switched Data Capability)
Ñ
A circuit-switched,
56 kbps, full duplex data service that allows data
communication over regular telephone lines.
❑
DDS (Dataphone Digital Service)
Ñ
A private line digital service
used for data transmission up to 56 kbps.
❑
Switched-56
Ñ A switched network service that operates with
56 kbps channels. A typical call on this network uses two
channels, and thus transmits data at a rate of 112 kbps.

If a POTS daughter board is present, you can also connect a
two-wire telephone line to your system.
