PON-4
and
4R
are state-of-the-art four-output outdoor optical CATV broadband nodes with a 48dBmV spuri-
ous-free output level. The RF output level, across the 54~860 MHz spectrum, is easily maintained with an optical input level
as low as -6dBm, because of the sensitivity and low noise threshold of GaAs amplifier modules used in the unit design. Inter-
nal to the unit are plug-in equalizer, attenuator and diplexer filters, making the unit adaptable to current and future CATV broad-
band services. The
PON-4
and
4R
have four balanced RF output ports, each with a forward bandwidth of 54~860 MHz, and a
(PON-4R option)
reverse path of 5~42 MHz. Optional pass-band frequency of 85~860MHz and 5~65MHz are also available. All
four ports are bi-directional and capable of passing power into and out of the nodes.
PON-4/4R
4 Way Outdoor Optical Nodes
•
Rugged, weather-resistant aluminum die-cast case enables
outdoor operation over extreme temperature ranges.
•
Forward band 54~860 MHz; return band 5-42 MHz
(PON-4R option) allows bi-directional flow of data from
customer to the headend.
•
Wide optical window (-6dBm to 3dBm) provides
excellent operation at low optical input levels.
•
Broadband hybrid power doubler technology provides
superior RF performance and very low composite inter-
modulation distortion.
•
Choice of frequency diplexer splits: comes with 42/54
(30.45 and 65.87 optional) for both NTSC and PAL
applications.
•
Power factor corrected 60 and 90 Vac cable (line)
powering provides efficient and smooth power
regulation.
•
Plug-in attenuator and equalizer pads for excellent
broadband amplifier linearity and signal balancing.
•
Internally integrated surge-resistant circuitry protects
hybrid amplifier modules against damage, guaranteeing
long term operation.
•
Optional forward redundancy with two 1310/1510
optical receivers.
•
Flexible reverse path with 1 to 4 reverse transmitters
per node.
•
15 amperes current passing capacity and 15 amperes
surge survivability.
