PICO MACOM

Rev. 9/07

T

he Pico Macom model

PN-1

is a cost-effective and fully featured indoor optical node specifically designed for the delivery

of analog and digital video, high-speed data and telephony signals and future broadband services into homes.  This unit

has diverse applications in MDU, industrial, government and educational institutions for broadband signal distribution

over hybrid optical networks. The optical core employed in the unit design is a 1310/1550nm optical receiver with a wide
optical input window of -6 to 3dBm for superb signal transmission. The

PN-1

has an integrated optical attenuator and equal-

izer compensation circuit to guarantee excellent broadband signal delivery thereby eliminating signal overload distortions RF

output. The PN-1 employs GaAs amplifier technology for excellent low and high frequency RF performance and spurious-free
output.  The unit is powered with a 120/240Vac internal power supply.

PN-1

Indoor Optical Node

Rugged, 7˝ x 4˝ x 3˝ precision aluminum die-cast case

guarantees excellent mechanical integrity, ease of instal-

lation and shielding effectiveness.

•

Bi-directional operation with forward bandwidth from

54~860MHz (analog and digital) and reverse bandwidth

from 5~42MHz.

•

Wide optical window (-6dBm to 3dBm) provides excel-

lent operation at low optical input levels.

•

Full 25dBmV typical RF output for superior C/N

performance.

•

Return loss guarantees excellent impedance match

across the frequency band with minimal reflection and

cross coupling between ports.

•

Input and output -20dB F-connector test points for

monitoring RF signals to prevent system overload.

PN-1

Indoor Optical Node

•

Calibrated 1V/mW optical input into the receiver

and optical level out of the transmitter.

•

Optical power monitoring for optimal optical input

and output power range indication.

Equipped with internal 80~130 Vac power supply

with filter to eliminate hum modulation.

•

Integrated high linearity optical receiver and

transmitter for two-way operation.
