6.5.2 Diagnosis
The module monitoring is always active. A detected error only triggers a diagnostic alarm if
the diagnostic type is activated in the diagnostic check boxes.

When a diagnostic alarm is triggered by a TM StepDrive error event, the following hap-
pens:
The DIAG light flashes red when a diagnostic alarm is present. The light is switched
off after error correction.
The diagnosis is displayed as plain text in the online and diagnostic view of STEP 7
(TIA Portal
®
).
