• Set volume controls

6

and

9

to zero

before connecting auxiliary equipment.

• Connect an audio source or wired mic

as described under section 4.

• V

OCAL

P

ORT

will provide a mixed signal

for all inputs.

• To record your performance or presen-

tation, connect a tape recorder to the
mix/rec out jacks

power and recharging

• The V

OCAL

P

ORT

is intended primarily

for battery operation.

• You may charge the battery at any time

irrespective of its residual capacity —
it will not develop a “memory.”

• Do not store your V

OCAL

P

ORT

for ex-

tended periods of time in entirely or
partially discharged condition. Always
recharge the battery immediately after use.

• If you are using V

OCAL

P

ORT

for the first

time or if it has not been connected to
AC power for more than a year, charge
the battery for 14 hours
.

To charge the battery:

first, connect the supplied
AC adapter to the recharge
battery jack (see

1

), then

plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
Do not use switched outlets!

• The voltage of the supplied AC adapter

will match the voltage of standard outlets
in the U.S. and Canada.
Using the AC
adapter with a different AC voltage may
cause irreparable damage to the unit.

• Charging will start auto-

matically, indicated by
the steadily lit charging
LED (see

2

).

• When the charging LED flashes,

the battery is fully charged and
the V

OCAL

P

ORT

is ready for use.

• Unplug the AC adapter from the wall

outlet and the recharge battery jack (see

1

).

• Turn on the V

OCAL

P

ORT

(see

3

).The status LED

(see

4

) should light green.

If it lights red the battery is
low (depending on the load,
battery operating time is 6
to 12 hours). The electronic
circuitry and the loud-speaker
will switch off automatically.

• During AC operation, the charging

circuit of the V

OCAL

P

ORT

will

automatically switch to trickle charge

mode. This means that the battery will
be automatically recharged during
operation. This also means you can
continue operating the V

OCAL

P

ORT

on

AC power even if the battery is
completely drained.

• In the event of a power failure, the

V

OCAL

P

ORT

will automatically switch to

battery operation with no interruption.
Therefore you can not switch the
V

OCAL

P

ORT

on and off by means of an

external power switch or safety cut-out.

cleaning and storage

• Ambient operation temperature should

range from -5º to +40ºC / 23º to 104ºF.

• Storage or shipping temperatures should

range from -15º to +40º C / 5º to 104ºF.
Temperatures below -15ºC /5ºF will
damage the battery.

• If condensation forms on the equipment

during shipping or storage, allow it to
acclimate for 2 hours before powering up.

• Use the loudspeaker in a dry environ-

ment with air of normal relative humidity
and dust concentration. Never expose the
unit to aggressive chemical liquids
or vapors.

• You may position the unit at any angle,

but always provide at least 2 inches of
free air space behind the rear panel for
adequate ventilation.

• Clean the loudspeaker enclosure with a

moistened cloth, making sure no liquid
enters the case.
