1.6 Notes on the Thermal Printhead
Please observe the following notes:

Used devices contain valuable recyclable materials, which should be utilized.
Dispose of used devices separately from other waste, i.e., via an appropriate collection
site.
The modular design of the THERMOMARK X1.1 means that it can easily be disassembled
into its component parts so that the parts can be taken for recycling.
The PCB of the THERMOMARK X1.1 is equipped with a lithium battery. Dispose of this
battery in a collection container for old batteries at a store or with the public waste disposal
authority.
The thermal printhead is the most sensitive part of your printer. If used incorrectly, the
printhead can become damaged very quickly.
Clean printhead correctly
– Do not use sharp objects (knives, screwdrivers, etc.) to clean the printhead.
– Clean the printhead at regular intervals with a special cleaning pen for thermal
printheads or with a cotton swab dipped in pure alcohol.
– The printhead has a red protective glass layer at the top. This protective layer must
not be touched with the hand.
Clean the protective glass layer, if necessary, with the special cleaning pen (see
"Cleaning the Printhead" on page 4-4).
Use suitable labels
– During printing, always make sure that there is no dirt on the labels as this could be
pulled underneath the printhead. This could damage the printhead.
After use, store the labels in their original packaging.
– Make sure that the label surface is sound and smooth. Coarse surfaces act like
sandpaper and reduce the service life of the printhead.
Do not modify printhead temperature
The printhead is preset to the correct temperature. Do not modify the printhead
temperature under any circumstances.
