5.3.3 Connecting the USB interface

For every Ethernet extender there is a corresponding USB connection labeled USB x.2. You
can configure the Ethernet extender or read diagnostic information via the respective USB
connection. Power can also be supplied via USB for configuration purposes. The "VCC"
LED flashes in this instance with 1 Hz. SHDSL operation is not possible.
• Connect the device to the computer with the VS-04-C-SDA-SDB/1.8 cable (Order No.
1405578). Connect the mini-USB plug (type B) to the Ethernet extender and connect
the USB plug to your computer.
5.3.4 Connecting the supply voltage
The supply voltage should be 100 V AC ... 240 V AC.
• Supply voltage via the connection socket on the back of the device. For this, use the
included connecting cable.
As soon as the "VCC" LED lights up continuously, the device is ready to operate.
Power can also be supplied via USB for configuration purposes. The "VCC" LED flashes at
1 Hz in this case. DSL operation is not possible.
Ambient temperature range
The device may be operated in the temperature range 5 °C ... 35 °C. Provide sufficient ven-
tilation and air-conditioning in the 19-inch installation system.
The USB interface is used to configure the device via the PSI-CONF configuration soft-
ware. The USB interface cannot be used for data transmission. DSL operation is not pos-
sible when power is supplied via USB.

NOTE: Device damage
Wrong fuse-links can cause the device to fail or destroy it.
Use only the specified fuse-links (glass fuse 20 x 5 mm, 1.6 A, medium-blow, 250 V).
