3.4.2 Line structure (daisy chain)

In a line structure (daisy chain), a number of components are connected in series. You can
connect up to 50 Ethernet extenders to each other in 2-wire operation.
It is therefore typically possible to bridge distances of up to 10 km between the Ethernet ex-
tenders. The distance depends on the data rate, cable cross section, and cable type.
3.4.3 4-wire line structure (special case)

For high bandwidths, a special application is possible. Several point-to-point connections
with 4-wire connection need to be configured for this purpose. These 4-wire point-to-point
connections are then linearly linked to each other via the Ethernet interfaces.
