Note: All procedures are done with the power completely removed. Adhere to all warnings in this manual.

Yoke Assembly

Vari-Lite Part No:  22.9704.0705

Note:  

This procedure is for replacing the yoke assembly only. You will transfer several parts to the 

replacement yoke assembly.

To replace the yoke assembly:

Step 1. Remove both yoke arm covers following the procedure described in 

“Yoke Arm Covers 

Removal” on page 46

.

Step 2. Remove yoke base cover following the procedure described in 

“Yoke Base Cover” on 

page 47

.

Step 3. Remove tilt belt following the procedure described in 

“Tilt Belt” on page 54

.

Step 4. Remove igniter following the procedure described in 

“Igniter Assembly” on page 48

.

Step 5. Noting placement, cut cable ties securing wiring in inside of yoke under base cover, 

including the tilt driver power.

Step 6. Remove both luminaire head covers following the procedure described in 

“Luminaire Head 

Covers Removal” on page 59

.

Step 7. Remove tilt lock side rail head cover following the procedures described in 

“Front Side Rail 

Covers” on page 60

 and 

“Rear Side Rail Cover Removal” on page 61

.

Step 8. At power distribution board, disconnect 36Vdc input (white connector) and carefully pull 

back through tilt tube.
