Note: All procedures are done with the power completely removed. Adhere to all warnings in this manual.

Upper Enclosure Fan

Vari-Lite Part No:  22.9704.1850

Note:  

This part number is a service only item and differs from the drawing

. It consists of all parts (fan, 

rubber fan mounts, and washers) needed to change one (1) fan in the upper enclosure. The upper 
enclosure has four (4) fans. Refer to note in 

“Side Mount Fan Assembly” on page 258

 for additional 

information.

To replace an upper enclosure fan (individual fan):

Step 1. Remove PFC following the procedure described in 

“PFC” on page 35

.

Step 2. Remove 4 x 6-32 x 3/8" PFSS-B screws and remove side cover.
Step 3. Disconnect wiring from pan driver board of fan to be replaced.
Step 4. Noting placement of and cut any required cable ties.
Step 5. At fan, using diagonal cutters, clip off ends of rubber fan mount.
Step 6. Remove nylon washers, and rubber fan mounts and discard.

Step 7. Remove fan assembly.
Step 8. Install new fan assembly, which will come with 4 rubber fan mounts and nylon washers.
Step 9. Clip off end of rubber fan mount after pulling through washers.
Step 10. Replace cable ties.
Step 11. Continue to replace in reverse from Step 4.
