Lamp Driver
Vari-Lite Part No: 69.9704.1400
Note: There are two different versions of hardware mounting these Lamp Drivers. They QTY in () is
for the older spot versions.
To replace the lamp driver:
Step 1. Remove display side upper enclosure cover following the procedure described in “Upper
Enclosure Covers Removal” on page 25 .
Step 2. Remove Lamp Driver Insulation Duct following the procedure described in “Lamp Driver
Insulation Duct Removal” on page 27 .
Step 3. At lamp driver, disconnect COM wire to MCB.
Step 4. At lamp driver, disconnect output wiring to igniter by removing 2 x 6-32 x ¼ PPZ screws
with lock washers. Note, replacement lamp driver should come with these screws.
Step 5. At lamp driver, disconnect DC input from PFC.
Step 6. Using ¼" Nut driver, remove 2 (3) 2.5"+13/16" standoff assemblies.
Step 7. Remove 8 (7) 6-32 x ½" PPZ SEMS screws.
Step 8. Angle lamp driver out of enclosure away from pan lock knob.
Step 9. Replace in reverse order.
Note: Make sure lamp wires are routed under the PFC and that wires are not pinched. Ensure all
screws a thoroughly tightened.
