The Event Setup task window enables you to adjust the following items:
Event
Criteria
The event type (Apnea, Bradycardia, Desaturation) determines how a
specific event is triggered and stored on the monitor.
Apnea Event
Settings
Apnea events are
always
triggered by a Red*** Apnea alarm. The Apnea
alarm is derived from the RESP parameter and occurs whenever
breathing ceases for a period exceeding the defined Apnea alarm limit
(usually 20 seconds).
The Apnea alarm limit and trigger time can be viewed but not adjusted in
the Event Setup task window. These settings must be adjusted in
Monitoring Mode
, in the RESP task window.
Trigger Mode
The trigger mode determines whether an
event is triggered by a physiological alarm or
by criteria defined specifically by the user.
Trig Threshold
The trigger threshold can be adjusted if the
user defined trigger mode setting has been
selected
Trigger Time
The trigger time can be adjusted if the user
defined trigger mode setting has been
selected.
