Check points: Measure the inter-connection pin 2 and
pin 4 of CN6 on decoder board.
Observe: the +5V and +3.3 V supply voltage are
presented.

Check points: Q1 on decoder board (pin 130 of
ESS60x8).
Observe: the +2v5 at the emitter terminal of Q1.
Check points: Measure the R43 (pin 49 of ESS60x8)
Observe: Measure the 27MHz oscillation frequency
Solution :
1) Check the inter-connection between power
supply board and decoder board, CN203 to CN6.
2) Check the supply voltage at the output of U204,
pin 2 and pin 4.
Solution : Replace Q1
Solution :
Check CC4, CC6 and X2(27MHz crystal)

Observe: The IIC clock and data signal are presented
Check points: pin 12 (CE) of U8, pin 23 of U8, pin 176
of U1(ESS60x8)
Observe:
-- the +5v is presented at pin 23 of U8,
-- the voltage level at pin 12 of U8 is LOW
Check points: check the IC U1, U3, U8 on decoder
board
Observe: is there any short circuit y between
components
Check points: check the pin 4 of U6 (Resetting IC)
Observe: a 5V is presented

Solution : Replace U6
Solution : Replace U2 (EEPROM)
Solution :
if the voltage output at pin 176 of U1 is not correct,
then check if there any short circuit between
components at U1, if not, replace U1 (ESS68x8)

Observe: the logical voltage on each address bus pin
are changing.

Solution : Replace U8
Check points: Measure the output voltage on the data
bus of U8, the pin 102 at U1 and pin 36 of U3
Observe: the logical voltage on each bus pin are
changing. The 108 MHz frequency at pin 102 of U1.
Yes
Solution :
1) if there are logical voltage changes, but disappear
shortly, and 108MHZ at U3 is presented.
Replace U3.
2) if no 108MHz at U3, replace U1.
