Diagnosis Menu Item
Figure 5.9
The
Diagnosis
menu item is divided into four areas.
■
Factory Settings:
Activating the
Restore Factory Settings
switch resets the sensor to
the default settings. All previous parameter changes are lost as a result of this.
■
Service Function:
The indication setting is set to "Normal Indication" as standard. This
means that the LEDs display status and diagnosis information. Setting the indication
setting to "Locator Indication" causes the LEDs S1...S3 to simultaneously flash in yellow
and the LED "Status" in green. This function can be used to locate a sensor in a plant or
machine more easily.
■
Device Status Information:
If the sensor is not operated correctly, e.g., if the damping
element is outside of the position range or is too far away, the device status changes from
"0 (Device is OK)" to "2 (Out of Specification)." This is a read-only field.
■
Operation Information:
Provides details of the operating hours of the sensor. This is a
read-only field.
■
Device Characteristics
Specifies the maximum position range of the sensor and the
resolution (smallest measuring step size). These are read-only fields.
■
Communication Characteristics:
Provides details of the minimum cycle time, master
cycle time, and IO-Link version ID. These are read-only fields.
