The shutter release button works in a two-step action as follows.
Press halfway
This refers to pressing the shutter release button gently to the first
position. This locks the focus setting and the exposure. The green focus
frame lights on the display when the shutter release button is pressed
halfway and the subject is in focus. If the subject is out of focus, the
frame turns white.
Press fully
This refers to pressing the shutter release button all the way down to the
fully depressed position. This takes a picture.
The following restrictions apply in
b
mode:
- You cannot set the Face Detection function to [Off].
- The focusing area setting is fixed at
J
(Auto).
- The
b
(Flower) mode cannot be selected when using Digital Zoom
or Intelligent Zoom.
- If
A
(Night Scene) mode is selected when the flash mode is
C
(Auto) or
D
(Auto + Red-eye), the flash mode is fixed to
a
(Flash
Off).
- When the drive mode is set to
j
(Continuous Shooting),
A
(Burst
Shooting(L)), or
C
(Burst Shooting(H)), pictures are taken
consecutively in shooting mode selected for the first shot.
- The EV Compensation is fixed to ±0EV.
- When a registered pet is detected, the camera is switched to
e
(Pet) mode.
