UDi F1/F6 2A 440V SMPS DC bus fuses
- fitted on UDi
power PCB.
Possible reason for failure
Fault in switch mode power supply.
Action
WARNING:
These fuses MUST NOT be replaced with
glass fuses (a glass fuse will rupture and
cause catastrophic damage). Use only the
specified 440Vac 2A ceramic fuses.
Replace fuse. If failure persists, replace
UDi power PCB assembly, or request
service.
UDi F2 6.3A +27V supply fuse
-
fitted on UDi power PCB.
Possible reason for failure
Faulty internal cooling fan.
Action
Replace fuse; check operation. If failure
persists, replace internal cooling fan;
replace UDi power PCB assembly, or
request service.
UDi F3 2A +24V supply fuse
-
fitted on UDi power PCB.
Possible reason for failure
Overload of +24V supply or low voltage
supplies derived from +24V; faulty UDi
control PCB.
Action
Check UDi for obvious faults to low voltage
DC supplies; replace with correct fuse;
check operation. If failure persists, replace
UDi control PCB, or request service.
UDi F4 500mA -12.5V supply fuse
Fitted on UDi Power PCB.
Possible reason for failure
Overload of -12.5V supply.
Action
Replace with correct fuse; check operation.
If failure persists, request service.
UDi F5 5A SCR gate supply fuse
Fitted on UDi Power PCB.
Possible reason for failure
SCR fault.
Action
Replace with correct fuse; check operation.
If failure persists, request service.
UDi 10A 440V heatsink fan supply fuses
Fitted on UDi RFI PCB.
Possible reason for failure
Supply surge; faulty heatsink cooling fan.
Action
Replace fuse, check operation. If failure
persists, replace heatsink cooling fan(s), or
request service.
1.7.6 REPLACING THE CONTROL PCB
First be absolutely sure there is actually a fault which
requires the control PCB to be removed.
If possible, check or record all screen settings against the
commissioning configuration record (Appendix 1).
Ensure all power is removed from the Microdrive and the
Microdrive has been allowed to discharge.
Observe static safe procedures.
Remove the front cover of the Microdrive.
Carefully note the position of all control wiring before
removal.
Release the flat film cable (FFC) clamp by gently pulling the
end tags of the FFC socket outwards from the board.
WARNING:
It is essential that the FFC clamp be
released first as detailed above. Gently
release the FFC cable taking care not to
damage it.
Release all mounting screws taking care not to lose any
screws or washers into the Microdrive.
Remove the control PCB.
Reverse procedure to replace the control PCB.
Set the new control PCB to the required configuration.
