Issuing pdk.io Credentials
Providing and accepting credentials is the gateway for access to and use of the
pdk.io
application. In this
section you will find the information for issuing and accepting the credentials necessary to gain access to
and utilize
pdk.io
. (Credentials are issued by someone that has an Integrator, Admin, or Manager permission
role.)
Issuing credentials to a user begins with the
Permissions
feature in the
pdk.io
application.
1. In the
Permissions
section of the
pdk.io App
, (beneath the
Customers
and
Cloud Nodes
sections) select
the
icon next to the
Permissions
heading.
2.
User Email
- From the
Add Permission
window, enter the email address of the user requesting
credential permission, or the user needing to receive their own credential in order to access the
pdk.io
system.

Role
- Click inside this field or on the down arrow to view the list of available roles.
Permissions / Roles
The
Permissions
section of the
pdk.io
application provides for users to be added and one of several roles to
be assigned to a user for access control. A user’s assigned role (Reporter, Manager, Admin, or Integrator)
determines what specific Cloud Node features and options may be accessed or denied.
Reporter
A permission role which may
not
configure or edit any settings in
touch io
.
Manager / Admin / Integrator
These are the permission roles (also referred to as an administrator) which may perform the necessary steps
to add and establish system credentials for users as well as provision and configure
touch io
readers using
the
pdk.io App
.
4. Click
ADD
. A welcome to pdk.io email is sent to the user.
